Garden Description
There are two rose gardens at this site. One is oval-shaped and contains over 160 multi-colored roses, with taller roses in the center to signify prayerful hands. It is close to the chapel that covers the now famous spot where a spontaneous water stream began after the appearance of Our Lady.
The other is on a tiered slope and greets visitors as one ascends the steps up the Tapeyac hill from the Basilica. There is a statue of the bishop and Juan Diego in the garden. The garden has approximately 115 roses in a variety of colors and fragrances.
